21st Century Skills and Digital Literacy:  What do Learners and Teachers Need to Know?
What exactly are 21st century technology skills, and how can we make sure we are incorporating these skills into our instruction? This presentation will review the definitions of 21st century skills and digital literacy, and provide examples of how these skills can be integrated by examining the intersection of technology, pedagogy and content knowledge. Examples from adult education classrooms will be provided, including e-portfolios, collaborative online projects, and educational uses of social networking.

Creating Pathways to Prepare Adult Learners for Successful Transitions

Moodle Course Repositories
Agencies are looking to develop online courses to help bolster enrollment and serve students. Explore the availability of online course repositories where educators freely share courses in many subject areas. This session introduces participants to what is currently available and provide resources  to find courses that fit their needs.

Online Course Development for Technology Integration
Participants will engage in a discussion on why and how programs might use a learning management system, such as Moodle, to enhance their technology integration and expand their distance learning options.  Participants will experience various online courses developed by programs to meet the needs of ESL, ABE and GED students and incorporate 21st Century Skills.  An explanation of course development will be discussed and include a step-by-step model that can be adapted for program use.  Participants will leave with resources for getting started on course development using a learning management system.

TeleTutoring: Using Real-Time Distance Learning
Many library literacy programs have either a waiting list of learners or a waiting list of unassigned tutors. Teletutoring levels this playing field. Tutors and learners in different communities connect using desktop videoconferencing , document cameras, and touch screen computers or Smartboards for two-way sharing and mutual annotation of materials.
